Melissa, I find this piece to be just precious... I just adore how you have worded this piece. It paints such a wondrous picture in my mind. Beautifully done.

Melissa,
Again, you have created a breathtaking piece filled with imagery.

I noticed one small thing in your first stanza:

how they attach themselves, like dewdrops
to each stand
in a rash attempt to grow a notion
from mere breath and spittle

Just one small mispelling...should read:

how they attach themselves, like dewdrops
to each STRAND
in a rash attempt....

Other than that, it's perfect!!

The title made me curious so I am glad that I stopped to read it. this was absolutely wonderful, I don't think I can offer any beneficial critique because I found nothing wrong with it. Your word choice was spot on and I love the way the title actually fits into the whole piece. An excellent job, indeed worthy of nomination, good luck.

This was a beautiful poem. The kind of love poem that doesn't annoy or bore me. Congrats on winning, it's surely worth it.

Although I feel this poem is very well written, I'm not sure I agree with its underlying message - that a woman should give up her own dreams and identity to make her man happy. But perhaps I'm reading more into this than is necessary.

A most enjoyable read and a well-deserved win.
