The day I let it all go

by Janis krumins

Rushing rivulets arising
through the thoughts and wishes
that I cannot
erase.
From the delicately pressed
corners of reality
melts the future of nothingness.
It drips un-enviously
from paused gargoyles of past,
into words that I cannot take back!

The canvas of Aphrodite is ripped!
Homeless, My Odyssey begins
as the heroic cinders from your
burning altar take off into
sacred flight.

Oh, in despair
I pray for rain

Kissing you a soft adieu
to rest my heart upon a pillow
made out of cold concrete
but a thousand shadow

hold on me
grip on me
pull on me
feast on me

Oh, how can I give something
when both of my hands are
fractured and empty?

We are divided by the shattered pieces of
our broken Love's Cup!
Feelings are left behind
as we go walk alone,
parted,
neutralized

Yet I am destined
to breathe in the deep-shaded
branches of your
Christmas tree
for I know
the bridge to my soul
still stands...
