Amongst the stars,
On a cool summer night,
Through the clouds,
The moon shone bright.
We sit in the field,
Gazing at the sky,
Hoping this moment lasts,
Dreading our goodbye.
As you starred at the moon,
And I your beautiful eyes,
I inched closer to you,
To my surprise.
I was so nervous,
That I figured I had missed,
The one and only chance,
To give you your first kiss.
Then you looked at me,
And I had a sudden feeling,
That stirred me deeply,
So unlike any kind.
Reaching out to you,
I softly grip your face,
Turning you to look at me,
As I move to kiss you in haste.
I feel your soft lips,
And smile to myself,
Feeling the weight being lifted,
Off my anxiety itself.
It was so natural,
Coming to me with ease,
I felt so alive,
Yet I could barely breathe.
I part from you for the moment,
To see if you're upset,
But find that it isn't there,
For the only sign is content.
