Walk On the Beach

by Ann Marie

Tangerine reflection on sapphire waves
Footprints meandering in the sand
Ball of fire sinking lower
He gently takes her hand

Breezes cool her flaming cheeks
Sea gulls call into the night
Blue eyes sparkle as he speaks
"This feels so very right"

Ideas flutter into her mind
What does the future hold?
Much too young to be in love
How will those dreams unfold?

Sunset gives way to bright full moon
Roaring waves reduce to mist
Salty spray drifts over them
As they share an innocent kiss
