Pen to paper, a poet's hand
Traces thoughts to time withstand
Song of raven to grains of sand
Beauty from another's heartland

A tear's cadence upon a page
The lonely soul within its cage
As broken dawns try to assuage
Encumbered on the same bitter stage

Spring bestowed blue summer bliss
Autumn stole with grey goodbye kiss
Left with naught but leaves to miss
Winter immaculate; turquoise amiss

Forlorn sunsets, forgotten tears
All to fade with the dusking years
Yellowed pages bequeath revere
Beckon the heart of the naive seer
