My Illusion

by Adelaine

Like the sand that covers me
It's warmth and touch of pity,
May your love and tenderness
Gradually surround me.

I hold your hand,
Though you're not here.
I whisper softly
In your ear.

When will you come home
And hold me in your arms?
When these feelings of loneliness
Shall become unknown?

I don't recall
When this began
Yet I miss you
As I greatly can.

You won't ever know
These thoughts in time.
As I write them down,
Your heart I bind with mine.

However, if this sense gets lost,
I shall pay a price
I might have sought.
You are the guest of such a cost.

Do bite me with those jaws that kill,
Scar my mind before I will.
They say time heals all wounds,
So cut me by the window sill.

If tears fall from my eyes,
I do not cry with sorrow,
But with happiness.
Enthrall me with your lies.

One day you might as well do this.
Leave me in ecstasy from my pain.
So I bequeath you this kiss
Sealed on a night of rain.
