by A Phine To Sour Skittles
You see me there and you run the other way.
When you smile back at me it brightens my day.
I can't resist taking glances at you from afar.
I'd run to you then, but its like my feet are in tar.
Here I am, standing. Looks like I'm stuck.
You're walking away, guess I'm out of luck.
Despite the butterflies, I'm dying to speak.
Oh your sweet smile, its light makes me weak.
Your eyes are warm honey in a soft brown sea,
the times our eyes meet, you nearly drown me.
In addition to no courage, my voice turns to chalk
everytime you're nearby, and I try to talk.
They say you're a quiet one, I shouldn't waste my time.
Even though they say this I can't get you off my mind.
I'm just hurting myself, I should know this by now,
and I've done it before, but I can't remember how.
I once thought I was close, then you started to drift.
It took me till then to know our time would be swift.
But you can't go yet! I don't know you at all!
And I don't just mean your pets, or your sports, or how tall..
I want to know you! What you're like, who you are!
You may think people don't see you, but to me you're a star!
My eyes are on you, they are your spotlight,
Now bask in the glow and show me what you're like!
I'm dying to see whats beyond your soft shell.
I have a feeling you're beautiful - I can just tell.
I've been waiting so long, and patient, I'm not.
Now pluck up and show me what you've got!
I promise I'll accept you, no matter what you are:
shy, social, brainy, or bizarre!
I promise this, and to it I'll be true,
but thats your choice, its up to you.
