by Adelaine
I remember when I was younger
I'd sit on your lap and you'd tell me stories,
And now I keep hoping to go back in time.
Yet, I can only hope forever.
If only that day I was with you,
I know I never would have let you go.
I'd stick with you through good and bad, and you know that,
Yet we can never go back...
Chorus:
Even if you're not here,
I'd like to tell you...
If only I could've whispered in your ear
That I'll miss you.
Cos, Grandma...we've been through good and bad.
I don't want to leave you with tears in my eyes.
I know you don't want me to be sad.
I'll be happy; look at me smile...
Cos I remember you when I was younger.
You'd cuddle me close, me and my brother--
You'd hold us tight and never let us go.
You'd sing to us in a voice so low.
Now I want to sleep a lifetime
As I dream of your smile.
I want to hold you forever,
Yet I have to say goodbye...
Cos you're gone, and we can't change that.
I'll make you proud of me as though you're with us...
Repeat Chorus:
Even if you're not here,
I'd like to tell you...
If only I could've whispered in your ear
That I'll miss you.
Cos, Grandma...we've been through good and bad.
I don't want to leave you with tears in my eyes.
I know you don't want me to be sad.
I'll be happy; look at me smile...
Look at me smile.
*This is a song I wrote for my classmate about 'moving on.' She lost her grandmother a few years ago. So, basically this is her story...how she felt. This was written on February 25, 2009.
