Unexpected down fall

by Randy East

Please help me not to love you,
I don't want to anymore.
My heart is in a free fall,
When will it hit the floor?

And as it falls, I wonder...
When will I see the ending?
A star falling through the emptiness
the ultimate descending.

Looking, longing for impact.
The moment it will snap.
Or bleep out of existence,
escaping from this trap.

But then, no matter what you do
I seem to just forgive.
Impossible to hate you,
For it's not the way I live.

So as I sit in silence,
and feel this my bodies pain.
Thoughts of losing my first true love
keeps pulsing in my brain.

I keep looking for the moment,
The place my heart will crash.
the moment when our shooting star
Blinks out and turns to ash.

And as I sit....I wonder.
Do we shine infinitely?
floating in a free fall
in a never ending sea.

For in forever what you do
I will always just forgive.
Impossible to hate you
cause its not the way I live.

I know I'll always love you.
I may not want to anymore.
My heart is in a free fall,
It won't ever hit the floor.

So forever it will drop
from somewhere up above.
As an unexpected down fall...

...of unconditional love.
