Phases

by Ellis

"She is my earth", he solemly bemused
"across her are the most heavenly hues
Of pearl clouds and gold coasts and endless green
and her fury enshrines all in crystal-blue seas

"And I am her moon, barren and bruised
pocketed by eons of blows I refused
to let slip and fall upon her featured face
as we trip our elliptical dance across space"
