Lost angel

by Jarred

I met an angel once,
Beautiful, devoid of imperfection
She swindled me gently off of my grounded feet
An instant connection

Every time we would meet
Wonder struck me
If I had such a lady
How wonderful it could be if my fantasy became reality

It had taken me a month to muster up the courage
I was shy, and did not feel ready for the task
Though I persisted " Will you be my angel? "
She replied, " Finally you ask! "
Pounding with joy was my heart

We spent many happy times together,
No one, not ever, could separate us apart
Unfortunately, such a fairytale was too good to be true
No one is perfect, this I knew

Love is tricky, this I know
Sometimes as cold but not as soft as snow
My only hope is that my heart learns to grow.

Oh beautiful angel, how I miss us so.
