The warm caress of sunlight awakens
me from a slumber of a thousand nights;
never has my soul and heart been replenished
like this before and there's only your love to
accredit this miracle to. Succumbed to
a trance of disorientation, I manage to wake
and escape from this chamber; so foreign yet
it screams out familiarity. Through the stone
corridors - an archive of past remnants of
once happy-stories - I walk, taking the toll
of a furious past that seeks to bombard me
with unwanted memories, all in an
attempt to disarm me of a smile.
With every step, your love - a resilient virus
that overcame every administration of antibiotics
and pillaged the numerous barricades that line my
heart that reigned victoriously through dynasties
of droughts in which the scorching heat left many
to wither in the absence of rain-subjugates the
will of my heart, and strengthens my once
nonexistent morale. Through the darkest nights
where lapses of judgment makes the devils that
reside in the Garden of Eden beam with satisfaction
and through the atypical moments where my heart
and soul unified and aligned with my newly-found
abundance of strength to overcome the ghouls that
quite often taunt me into an abyss of repetitive
blunders, my guardian angel observes from the
stairs of heaven showering me with constant love
to remedy the fact that my heart's been
deprived of it, for a long time.
