Not for the love songs
you sing me, nor for the
love poems you write.
But for all the silly
nicknames that you
somehow think of to
tease me.

Not for the casual looks
that you send my way,
nor the way you gaze
deeply into my eyes.
But for the way you
look over my shoulder.

Yes, I love you too ..

Not for the way you talk
about me, nor the sweet
words you nest around me.
But for the cheesy smile
that you perfectly paint
all over my face.

Yes, I love you too ..

Not for the way you
handle my crazy mood
swings, nor for saying
the right thing at the
right time.
But for those silent
conversations that you
start when there is not
much to be said.

Yes, I love you too ..

Not to answer back what
you just said, nor to calm
the wonderment you have.
But for mirroring the things
I seem to miss whenever I
look at who I am.
