Skipping a Meal

by Chelsey

Written for a club challenge about a "kitchen utensil"

You were jealous right away,
as a pink and white laced apron
that says "kiss the cook",
snugged the tenderness of my breasts

I didn't think you'd take it literally
Hands came across my hips
and soft lips tickled my neck
Causing my finger to slip-
bumping the dial on the stove to 'high'

Any dish, newspaper, napkin were whisked off the counter
as I was laid there for dinner instead
The food now burning, similar to how
I was on fire for you

The chef, the master
were no longer nicknames for me
When the prongs of the fork
traced my back and the spatula
spanked the meat of my backside,
the entree' had been taken over

When I questioned if there was room for dessert,
whip cream was spread like icing a cake
and a cherry was placed on top of mine

The walls of the kitchen shook
as no tea kettle has ever screeched louder than I
I knew dinner wasn't necessary tonight,
for we have just devoured one another

Haha, this is great. Good pace, light hearted and sensual without being dramatic. Fun :)

Wow, this was a very passionate poem... and it's funny because I didn't expect it at all! Oddly enough I was expecting a poem about diet or skipping meals to lose weight or 'fit in' or something similar to that from the title! I love being surprised while reading a poem, and this poem did that for me.

I love how you started it - and I must say the descriptions were lovely. I like how you said you were wearing an apron and that this person was 'jealous' of it... that made me laugh and smile... it's a thought that sometimes crosses our minds but we rarely would say out loud!

Great job with this poem hon :)
