Friend to Lover

You were my friend
for only a short while
but every time i heard your
voice, i had to smile.

i got butterflies in my tummy
and i still do
every time you held me
and said "i love you"

i get confused
every now and then
but to be completely honest
you're better than all men.

only a week
into knowing me
you told me that
you knew we were meant to be

you asked e out
all in good time
you made me yours which
made you mine

that was back in August
which wasn't that long ago
and still to this day
we'll never let go.

We've had our hard times
so do the rest
but we work through them
and think of them only as a test.

we're always happy
people look at us and say
"they look great together,"
"why cant we be that way?"

We have a long road ahead of us
but i know we'll be fine
As long as i stay yours
and as long as YOU STAY MINE!!!!
