Frozen Fire

I stood there alone
With my eyes cold as stone
I didn't know what to say
I felt as if everything stopped halfway

I could no longer search for the truth in you
Because I realized it shows in what you do
I felt helpless there without a fuss
But didn't realize our love was lust

I secretly wanted my own life to live
But handed it to you because it was all I had to give
I saw nothing but everything going still
And relationships with friends started to chill

My contempt was burning me up inside
I didn't know how to push it aside
I felt the sensation every time I tried to be tough
But inside I wasn't warm enough

Everything got too hot too fast
I couldn't take it, then again wanted it to last
I had an unknown desire
An emotion like frozen fire
