Metal Fatigue
by Paul Hirst
A robot I wish I could be
Full of wires and circuitry
A computer chip to replace my brain
Oil and tubes no blood or veins
Infrared lenses to replace my eyes
The camera lens rarely cries
Not a heart instead a clock
No more pain just a quite tick tock
No heart to wear upon my sleeve
Or eyes to weep as I watch you leave
A robot would be much more fun
Just switch me off when you have gone
