Portrait of you

by Walter

If you were my portrait then I'd be your brush
Painting your colours so vivid and lush
To capture the beauty of your aura so bright
My attention to detail spans into the night

Every time I see you, I always see more
Even more alluring than the time just before
I follow your contours of sights never seen
And struggle to convey perfection to a screen

And even a photo won't show any more
I cannot display what my eyes just saw
You're permanently portrayed inscribed in my mind
Something more beautiful I know I won't find

To paint a portrait of you a work of art
Is impossible with hands and only my heart
Could possibly capture a picture so divine
This image of you my one valentine
