Sister of Soul

She's my sister of soul,
this woman with whom
I’ve shared the happiest years
of my fast expanding life.

There have been our share
of trials and tribulations,
heartaches and filial loss,
but always together have
we faced each new struggle.

Fire and caring have
marked my esteem
for a woman of courage,
insight and honor,
and even as we now tread
down varied roads
my love shall remain steady
for she’s my sister of soul.
