My Dream Lover

As I try to sort out my dreams
I keep asking myself
Why each night a vision
Of a midnight lover in black.

He comes and seduces me
Makes love all through the night
Holds me gently in his arms
He makes everything feel right.

He ignites a flame inside
That I thought no longer exist
I'm beginning to lose control
And now I can't resist.

He's everything I've desired
And truly so much more
He's given life meaning
Now my midnight lover, I adore.

He only comes to me in my dreams
That's the part that's sad
He stays for a little while
And he never makes me mad.

For now he's my midnight lover
That's what I live for
Only in my dreams he's with me
Dreams now that I adore.
