Winter Dove

by Kaitlin Kristina

A requiem, ode to long lost dream
Another truth, Small indecent scene.
I cling to you, you hold my hand,
Requisition of fated heart, demand.
Your requital, what I truly need,
Sealed with kiss, ring, and bended knee.
Commit to me, my precious love,
Pure, sleeping virgin dove.

Tainted, now all has become,
The dove awoke. Shine the sun.
Years upon years have come to this.
One more, last and parting kiss.
Torn apart on the dotted line,
Death of all once thought divine.

True love, flying way up high,
Shot dead, fell right from the sky,
The dove lie still, tear in eye,
Bend down, whisper last goodbye.

Pure and white as winter snow,
Every pair begins like this, we know.
Along the line someone shoots the shot,
Some birds will fall, while some will not,
But this one thing is forever true,
White bleeds red, which turns to blue.

Anger will always fade to sorrow,
A broken heart remains tomorrow.
The choice to rescind does not remain,
Once let loose, endure the rain.

A requiem, ode to long lost dream
Another truth, Small indecent scene,
If I cling to you, love, hold my hand,
Kiss me if it's my demand. Bring me close,
Don't let go. Intentions,
Pure as winter snow.
