and gave it to my lord

his light grew bright as if to smile

expressing his accord

And from that day I've been with you

yet hidden from your eyes

wrapped my wings around you

and sang your favorite lullaby

When you woke up from sleeping

with a head of messy hair

it was me who counted each of them

to make sure they were all there

When you were sad and lonely

and a tear rolled down your face

I tried so hard to touch you

it tore my heart right out of place

Its a shame you couldn't see me

we would have been best friends

when your soul from earth ascends
