Never Showing My Appreciation

Another sleepless night,
but this time my eyes are dry.
Overcome with temporary happiness.
Happiness that I pray will stay.

I don't show my thankfulness,
for such a great gift.
Instead I keep wishing for more,
never satisfied, never good enough.

I am in fact so lucky,
to be so loved and cared for,
but that is never enough for me,
always wanting more.

You do so much to show you care,
but I'm just selfish,
never seeing how amazing you really are,
never appreciating what I have.

There won't be anymore tears,
only word of praise said.
