Broken Heart

I sat and waited by the phone,
Feeling more and more alone,
You said you would call me at nine,
But Darling look at the time.

I wonder now in my heart,
If you would rather be apart,
All those promises you made,
Seem to somehow be waylaid.

I try and ask myself why?
Oh Darling I did so try,
Another man has broken my heart,
It has torn me apart.

I will try and get on with my life,
But Darling this cuts into me like a knife,
If I only knew what I done wrong,
At least this agony would no longer prolong.
