I wanted to keep you with me forever,
Laugh...We had good times together
But when I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand.

I wanted to be your fantasy,
And guide you through life happily
But then you turned and my flame died,
And now I know I barely tried.
She's everything and I am pained
To hear her whisper your sweet name.

I wanted to visit our special place
And fall in love inside your grace,
But when I saw she stole your heart
My world trembled and fell apart.
And from my sorrows I descry
Deserts of hurt eternity.
