I stood
awfully appalled
as he grimaced
in putrid contempt-
fire gone gray
in his ardent heart.
And,
by reverting and averting,
he sniggered
like a sardonic steed.
Wincing
as he warded me off
like chaffs driven away
by the gnashing wind...
